Cleaning your lashes

Why is it so important to clean the lashes? To avoid having an eye infection and/or losing our natural lashes!!

“Blepharitis is a common eyelid inflammation that sometimes is associated with a bacterial eye infection, symptoms of dry eyes or certain types of skin conditions such as acne rosacea. Blepharitis has two basic forms:

  • Anterior blepharitis, affecting the outside front of the eyelid where eyelashes are attached.
  • Posterior blepharitis, linked to dysfunction of meibomian glands within the eyelids that secrete oils to help lubricate the eye.

It’s common to have a mixture of both anterior and posterior forms of blepharitis at the same time, but in different degrees of severity.” – allaboutvision.com

Eye infections isn’t caused by eyelash extensions, it is caused by not keeping our eyes clean.  Most commonly and mistakenly, we believe that the less I touch my eyelashes, the longer they will stay on.  However, that isn’t the case.  We produce natural oils on our skin.  There are also make-up residues and just dusts and sands from our everyday environment.

We recommend using a water-based foam soap cleanser to clean your eyelashes EVERYDAY!

Keeping those babies clean will help them stay stronger and healthy!
